The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program provides free tax preparation services to thousands of moderate and low-income Pierce County residents each year during the tax season.
For appointments call 2-1-1. Walk-ins also welcome.

In addition to remote tax assistance and by-appointment community tax help sites noted above, you can request a tax assistance appointment at the local Tacoma-area IRS Office at 1201 Pacific Ave. (fountain level of the Wells Fargo Building), Tacoma, WA 98402.

- Do your own taxes with phone support from a volunteer or send copies of your documents electronically and a volunteer can do your taxes for you remotely. For households with incomes up to $66,000.

- Select free forms and instructions are available at most library locations from late February through the tax deadline, while supplies last.
- Print additional forms and instructions from the IRS website. Use your printer or ours!
- Print state tax forms from throughout the U.S. Find your state tax form.
- Call the Library to request a print pickup appointment for a specific tax form.
