2026 Free Tax Prep

Need help with your taxes? The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people with moderate and limited incomes, persons with disabilities and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns.

Appointments are required. Check this page for updates in January on how to book an appointment.

Sessions offered Sunday, Feb. 1 to Wednesday, April 15 at the following Pierce County Library locations:

Fife Pierce County Library, 6622 20th St. E.

    • Fridays from 12:30-4:30 p.m.

Key Center Pierce County Library, 8905 Key Peninsula Hwy NW, Lakebay

    • Mondays (except Monday, Feb. 16) from 11 a.m.- 5 p.m.

Parkland/Spanaway Pierce County Library, 13718 Pacific Ave. S., Tacoma

    • Thursdays (except Thursday, Feb. 26) from 1-6 p.m.
    • Saturdays (except Saturday, April 11) from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.

  • Check out this service for people who know how to prepare their own tax forms. Brand-name tax software or online fillable forms plus electronic file is available.
