Pierce County Library System adjusting hours in 2026

The Pierce County Library System will roll out new hours beginning Sunday, Jan. 18, 2026. The adjusted schedules will include more weekend hours and are intended to make it easier for customers, especially busy families, to plan visits and access services and programs.

Pierce County Library Board holds final public hearing on the 2026 budget

At the Pierce County Library System’s Board of Trustees’ Wednesday, Dec. 10, 3:30 p.m., regular meeting, the Board will conduct its second and final public hearing on the Library System’s 2026 budget, elect officers for 2026, and address additional business.

The public is invited to give comments on the Library System’s proposed 2026 budget. The Library’s 2026 operating budget is projected to be $51.43 million, to provide priority services and programs.

Congratulations to talented Pierce County Library card design contest winners

Congratulations to Kaylie Kim, age 11, a Edgewood resident, and Sophia Hanson, age 16, a Longbranch resident, for their winning designs in the Pierce County Library System’s Card Design Contest! Kim won in the category for ages 5-11, and Hanson won in the category for ages 12-18.
