Borrow a pass for free admission to local museums.
As part of a cooperative project among Pierce County Library, Tacoma Public Library, Puyallup Public Library and local museums, you can use special passes for free admission to partnering museums.
Information for all passes
- Visit your Pierce County Library to check out a museum pass, using a valid library card.
- Checkout is limited to one pass per museum for one week. You may check out passes to multiple museums at the same time.
- While you cannot place holds on Museum passes, you can check for availability here in the library catalog before you go to the library to check out a pass.
- Pass users must adhere to the rules of the museum.
- Check the website of the museum you are interested in for information about hours and open days.
Partnering Museums
Foss Waterway Seaport - Seaport Pass
The Seaport Pass is your ticket to Puget Sound’s extraordinary maritime heritage. Experience the sights, sounds and classic beauty of the historic Balfour Dock Building and the waterfront esplanade. Discover permanent and rotating exhibits and observe traditional maritime crafts and construction skills at the working heritage boat shop.
- Present the pass at the Foss Waterway Seaport front desk and receive free admission for up to two adults and four children under the age of 18. Children ages 5 and under are always admitted free.
- Passes are not valid for ticketed events, field trips or group tour visits.

Lakewold Gardens - Garden Pass
The Garden Pass is your entry to a premiere Northwest garden experience 100 years in the making. Walk the paths of Lakewold Gardens and stroll through a period in garden history when classic European design came face to face with America’s emerging landscape masters.
- Present the pass at Lakewold Gardens and receive free admission for up to two adults and three students ages 13-18. Children ages 12 and under are admitted free.
- Passes are not valid for ticketed events, field trips or group tour visits.
- Passes are not valid for the Beautiful Tables Showcase.

Museum of Glass - Glass Pass
The Glass Pass is your ticket to contemporary glass art. Watch artists in action in the hot shop amphitheater and see changing and permanent exhibitions in the galleries. Create your own glass art or participate in family-friendly art activities in the education studio.
- Present the pass at the Museum of Glass front desk and receive free admission for up to two adults (18 and older) plus four children (ages 6-17). Children ages 5 and younger always receive free admission.
- You are limited to one pass per library card.
- Passes are not valid for field trips or group visits.

Tacoma Art Museum - Art Access Pass
Take the Art Access Pass to the Tacoma Art Museum (TAM), a public-spirited institution that champions a dynamic and responsive approach to exhibitions that emphasize the art and artists of the Northwest and broader western region.
- Present the pass at Tacoma Art Museum’s admission desk and receive admission for up to two adults and four children under the age of 18. Children ages 5 and under are always admitted free.
- Passes are not valid for field trips, group tour visits, ticketed lectures or events.
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Pay-per-hour parking is available at TAM and surrounding locations.

Washington State History Museum -
History Pass
The Washington State History Museum is where fascination and fun come together! With the History Pass explore Washington’s people, places and impacts on the world through the museum’s interactive exhibits, dynamic storytelling and amazing artifacts.
- Present this pass for free admission for up to two adults and four children under the age of 18. Children ages 5 and under are always admitted free.
- Passes are not valid for field trips or group tour visits.
- Passes are not valid during the annual Model Train Festival.

Please note: The Washington State History Museum will be closed from Jan.13 through Feb. 14. The museum will reopen on Feb. 15, 2025.
