Trivia BEE Basics
What is the Trivia BEE?
The Trivia BEE is the Pierce County Library Foundation’s annual fundraising event where teams participate in three rounds of trivia. Winners earn their spot on the coveted Championship trophy and event proceeds benefit the Pierce County Library’s Outreach Services.
When and where is the Trivia BEE held?
The date, time and location for the 2023 event will be announced soon!
Can children come to the Trivia BEE?
The Trivia BEE is a 21 and over event so sadly the kids need to stay home. You can find loads of fun events for everyone in your hive at a Pierce County Library near you.
Is there a dress code?
The Trivia BEE is a casual event. While there isn’t an official costume contest this year, you are welcome to wear your favorite library or bee-themed costume
What to I need to play?
You will need an internet-connected device such as a cell phone, tablet, computer, etc. There will be free Wi-Fi at the venue.
I can’t make the event. Can I still I support the library?
Of course! Make a gift now.
What Covid-19 safety measures are being put in place?
Washington State’s emergency Covid proclamations expire on October 31. However, hand-sanitizer will be available and tables are spaced six feet apart. While not required, you are always welcome to bring and wear a mask.
How do I get tickets to attend Trivia BEE or form a team?
Tickets are currently not available. More information will be coming soon.
What is the Trivia BEE medallion?
The Trivia BEE medallion is XXXXXXX given to all team members at the event. Audience members can buy a medallion for a limited time with their online ticket purchase (Oct. 1 – 14).
Are there early bird discounts?
We are unable to offer early bird discounts, however, all event proceeds go to support the Pierce County Library System.
What are the different ticket types?
There are four different ticket types depending on how you participate in the Trivia BEE.
- Large Team Ticket (4 – 6 players) – $500 (includes dinner, drinks, parking, and a medallion for each player)
- Small Team Ticket (2 – 3 players) – $200 (includes dinner, drinks, parking, and a medallion for each player)
- Audience Member – $50 (includes dinner, drinks, and parking)
- Live Stream Viewer – $30
What is included with my Trivia BEE ticket?
In addition to a great time, tickets include:

- Live Stream Viewers will receive a private url to watch the event
Do I need to print my ticket?
No need to print anything! All of your check-in information will be available and ready at registration.

What if I arrive early?
We are working our magic to get the venue ready for you and ask that you arrive at 6:30 p.m. If you do arrive early, you may be asked to wait outside (or in the lobby area if the weather is poor). Thanks for understanding!

- Tuscan Chicken in a Spinach Sauce with Tomatoes and Garlic (GF)
- Rotini Mascarpone – Pasta with Red Peppers, Zucchini, Yellow Squash,

- Wild Mushroom Pilaf – Shiitake Mushrooms with Rice (GF & V)

What are the beverage options?
The Trivia BEE is proud to serve a 2022 Signature Cocktail featuring Heritage Distilling’s Elk Rider Vodka and created by Brian Johnson of Better Cocktails At Home. There will also be local beer and wine selections available as well as coffee, tea, water, assorted juices and sodas.
Can I make a donation during the event?
Yes! You will have an opportunity to make a special gift during the event.
How to Play
Who can play?
Teams (competing for the Championship trophy), audience members and live stream viewers can play along using an internet-connected device.
How do I access the game?
Teams will use a SINGLE internet-connected device to submit answers.
Event attendees will receive a QR code at the event to log into the game from your table using an internet-connected device.
Live stream viewers will receive a url via email.
What is Crowdpurr?
Crowdpurr is an online trivia platform live stream players will use to submit their answers to trivia questions.
How many rounds of questions are there?
There will be three rounds of trivia with 15 questions per round.
How are answers scored?
Each question answered correctly earns the team/player 100 points. An incorrect answer is worth 0 points.
What if there’s a tie?
There will be three multiple-choice tie-breaker questions. If there is still a tie after three questions, the final question will be a write-in numerical answer. The team closest to the number wins.
