Trivia BEE Basics

The Trivia BEE is the Pierce County Library Foundation’s annual fundraising event where teams participate in three rounds of trivia. Winners earn their spot on the coveted Championship trophy and event proceeds benefit the Pierce County Library’s Outreach Services.

The Trivia BEE is a 21 and over event so sadly the kids need to stay home. You can find loads of fun events for everyone in your hive at a Pierce County Library near you.

The Trivia BEE is a casual event. While there isn’t an official costume contest this year, you are welcome to wear your favorite library or bee-themed costume

You will need an internet-connected device such as a cell phone, tablet, computer, etc. There will be free Wi-Fi at the venue.

Washington State’s emergency Covid proclamations expire on October 31. However, hand-sanitizer will be available and tables are spaced six feet apart. While not required, you are always welcome to bring and wear a mask.

The Trivia BEE medallion is XXXXXXX given to all team members at the event. Audience members can buy a medallion for a limited time with their online ticket purchase (Oct. 1 – 14).

We are unable to offer early bird discounts, however, all event proceeds go to support the Pierce County Library System.

There are four different ticket types depending on how you participate in the Trivia BEE.

  • Large Team Ticket (4 – 6 players) – $500 (includes dinner, drinks, parking, and a medallion for each player)
  • Small Team Ticket (2 – 3 players) – $200 (includes dinner, drinks, parking, and a medallion for each player)
  • Audience Member – $50 (includes dinner, drinks, and parking)
  • Live Stream Viewer – $30

In addition to a great time, tickets include:

  • Team tickets: dinner, drinks, parking, and a medallion for each player.
  • Audience tickets: dinner, drinks, and parking
  • Live Stream Viewers will receive a private url to watch the event

No need to print anything! All of your check-in information will be available and ready at registration.

We are working our magic to get the venue ready for you and ask that you arrive at 6:30 p.m. If you do arrive early, you may be asked to wait outside (or in the lobby area if the weather is poor). Thanks for understanding!

Yes! You will have an opportunity to make a special gift during the event.

How to Play

Teams (competing for the Championship trophy), audience members and live stream viewers can play along using an internet-connected device.

Teams will use a SINGLE internet-connected device to submit answers.

Event attendees will receive a QR code at the event to log into the game from your table using an internet-connected device.

Live stream viewers will receive a url via email.

Crowdpurr is an online trivia platform live stream players will use to submit their answers to trivia questions.

There will be three rounds of trivia with 15 questions per round.

Each question answered correctly earns the team/player 100 points. An incorrect answer is worth 0 points.

There will be three multiple-choice tie-breaker questions. If there is still a tie after three questions, the final question will be a write-in numerical answer. The team closest to the number wins.
